Twelve Clans, Inc., “Looking to the Future” is a federally chartered Section 17 corporation under the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934, wholly owned by the Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin. The corporation was created to address the growing demand for non-gaming employment opportunities, economic diversification, and innovative and sustainable infrastructure.
The Ho-Chunk Nation considered the need for economic diversification of the Ho-Chunk Nation’s economy and business activities. The Legislature seconded the important recognition of the need to enhance the Nation’s sovereignty and security and the Nation’s people’s health and welfare and passed Resolution No. 09-25-13Q.
The Ho-Chunk Nation Legislature approved a Section 17 corporate charter “Twelve Clans, Inc.” through Resolution No. 09-25-13Q on September 25, 2013. After the charter was submitted to the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), the BIA approved the charter on September 29, 2014, and created Twelve Clans.
To empower Ho-Chunk Nation tribal members and native youth with liveable, competitive wages, on-the-job training, career opportunities, and competitive benefits.
To reinvest profit from business operations to self-fund future Twelve Clans businesses, to create Twelve Clans' financial future, and to invest in the financial future of tribal members.
To structure corporate subsidiaries, capital investments, and entrepreneurial ability into diverse, competitive markets and industries on and off tribal lands that are commercially viable.
