Susan Waukon, a proud member of the Ho-Chunk Nation, has a distinguished history of public service and a deep commitment to tribal economic development. Following a four-year term as an elected official for the Ho-Chunk Nation, Susan transitioned to key roles within the federal government and the energy sector, where she specialized in tribal liaison work and fostering business relationships.
Currently, she serves as Vice President of the Indian Land Tenure Foundation, a tribal organization focused on land preservation, addressing the impacts of climate change, and creating sustainable economic opportunities for tribal communities.
Susan earned a Master of Public Administration from Cornell University concentrating in nonprofit leadership, management, and finance.
